About

SLVRBNS is a multi-sensory sojourn utilising modular synthesizers, dark vocals and unpredictable drums. An initiative of multidisciplinary performer and musician Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti, inspired by the landscapes of her home country Bolivia. Together with multi-instrumentalist and sound artist Jochem van Tol, improviser, drummer and composer Frank Rosaly and guest musician, Saxophonist Jarret Gilgore.

They created a second album on which different musical influences merge; a sonic fabric where Andean folklore, electronica, experimental and avant-garde meet. The music is particularly enkindled by the imaginaries and speculative fictions on Ibelisse's postcolonial and deeply spiritual Andean background. Where past-present-future, pain-hope, struggle-joy, landscape-ritual and the constant contradictory dichotomies become an immense source inspiration. By daring to listen to the many still resonating human and more-than-human voices.

The confluence of us as artists has taken us on a ride that assembles our broad musical language: from Pop to Jazz, from noise to andean folk music, from electronic music to trance. This sonic art work signals these multiplicity of genres, and attempts to confluence them in a meeting point, namely as various songs.
